The relationship you have with yourself can only echo the relationship you have with the world around you. As a modern man, I know my story matters as a reflection of history, our story, my story, his story, and her story, they all matter. How I live reflects the value and the sacredness of life. If I treat myself with respect and love, the same will be reflected in the world I live in. At times it may seem as though this truth is not being reflected, but the truth is as sure and strong as the wisdom of water and life. Water has a consciousness and being that lives solely for life.
Water knows when to be strong, when to be nourishment or when to clear a pathway. It is a living, strong entity as is our individual sources of energetic bodies. We are connected by the web of family, human family. Just as the five fingers on the hand, all members are needed to be functional and grounded in alignment of purpose. The unity of purpose is clear.
I know as a father, son, brother and a participating modern man in our society, my input and my participation is needed in order to claim a solution. I recognize the strength of the number five, mother, father, child, grandfather and grandmother. This basic unit is the basis of maintaining human evolutionary life. The five cultural races of the planet are brown, black, red, yellow and white. As a sacred artist, I recognize the importance of individual roles within the human structure. It is a unit of survival. But in order to become more than we were yesterday, we must learn to thrive, as a cultural and united human society. The story of family unity and a tribal sense of support is needed to enforce a deeper sense of community. In a community, everyone has a place of being and no one is left behind. Every person is valued for what they bring to the table and how they eat their food as well are they grateful for the opportunity to have a human story.
Because I was raised within a family where your voice mattered, whether it was your singing voice or your story voice, it was the voice you would use to be empowered or heard. The most important ritual of living is showing up for life as you participate in life, making every breath of life matter as you use your voice to change the colors of the world and the musicality of the song of life.
As an elder, I live to give back to the life that has been given to me. The story of life has given me life to live in an echo of becoming the circle of life. My life purpose in life is to be a manifestor who supports life. I stand and walk in the journey of life, continuing the evolution of being present, learning from the lessons of life as my life story unfolds. I arise each day to be in the flow of life in order to keep giving to the larger story of life. I am a mere sentence or chapter in the book of life. I am one of the lyrical lines of the song of life and it is my privilege to sing my written and my improvised part of the song. It is a living balance of foundation and free-flowing manifestation of the story of life.
There are lyrics and storylines, human rhythms that out picture the heart of the story of human life. From the beginning of life from the embryo, the caveman and woman, nomads of the desert, the pyramids of the world, we have evolved in cultures living and breathing each of our individual working parts of illustrating the diversity and beauty of the patterns of life. As a world culture, we have come far in our evolution as a human race, yet there is so much more to the evolutionary story of humankind to be revealed.
As an elder and an artist, I have learned to sing my song, paint and script my history and my visions. I know I am an observer and an interpreter of the human story. My sense of story, form and being a gather of musical notes, notes of loving and lying, failings and triumphs allows me to have empathy for the universal human story. It allows me to tell the stories through my personal lenses. I must practice compassion for the unfolding of the human story or I could not tell the story in an objective way that could only honor the story. The truths of life must be told and I am a facilitator of being authentic and truthful as a way of life.
This is my honorable gift which I attempt to honor every day of my being. I show my gratefulness by using the gift to enhance myself, the society around me and beyond. I personally cannot be a victim to the failings of the society. I must be my own hero and be an advocate for the healing of society. Fix what is broken.
Hopefully, it is just our system which is broken and not we as a people. We may be bruised, but we are not broken.
