A cop takes on a tough case in ‘Spiral’ coming soon to Blu-Ray
Each Saw film has been a blast to watch. This is a series of films that only get better as the saga continues to unfold. Jigsaw surprised me in many ways and ended up being the best film in this series yet. When I heard Spiral was coming to Blu-Ray I hoped I might get to watch it. I was able to get a review copy of this movie and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for Spiral here:
Working in the shadow of his father, an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

Spiral was a pretty good film. My only real issue with it is that it doesn’t really fit into the Saw series. The story felt more like a stand alone one that didn’t fit into the greater narrative. We do get wonderful performances from Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson, but the motives of the killer veered too far from any of the other Jigsaw disciples. The motives made sense, but still overall this just doesn’t feel like any other Saw movie that has come out. Yet this doesn’t mean it was a bad horror film, and some fans at least are sure to enjoy it.

Spiral comes out tomorrow on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-Ray. You can follow this movie on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
