As we enter a new era on Medium, I feel ever more committed to New Choices. Making choices is how we change. Choices are how we impact our lives, and often the lives of others.
Our writers come from a variety of backgrounds, and across a span of ages. Each has made choices they now write about in retrospect. A few write about a choice they are making. Some write of choices that mean something for society.
If you are a writer who has made a life-changing choice, are considering such a choice, or know someone who has, please read our submission guidelines and request to be added as a writer.
Here are selected stories from some of our best writers. Each story informs the reader of how choices are made, and the impact they have.
is a Behavioral Analyst and Strategist. He knows the science behind our behavior and why we make certain choices that sometimes are not in our best interest. Here’s a sample of what he says.

(yes, we have some PHDs here a New Choices) illuminates the truth behind those who say they hate drama. As Shakespeare wrote, “Me thinks thou dost protest too much.”
Dr. Bouey makes it clear that those who claim to “hate” drama are those who most often are creating it. They stir the pot, them sit innocently by while others go full meltdown.

is a New Choices editor, and a person who makes choices and takes chances. Follow her and read about her journeys as a mother, a woman, a writer, and one who perseveres. In this story, she makes new choices. Later, she’ll make other choices. Each choice brings her more fully into herself and her purpose.

is a prolific and wise writer, who has published seven successful books. She is an editor for New Choices. She also happens to be my friend. I am fortunate to know her personally.
Toni, and her husband Bill, have the best marriage I know. They succeed as a couple for many reasons. One is how they navigate outside friendships. Love and boundaries, agreements and mutual respect, keep them grounded. And breathing.

Finally, as Editor-in-Chief, I cover topics from social justice, to my own choices as a parent, to my life and career journeys that look more like Gulliver’s Travels. The following article fits no specific category, but touches on social justice, feminism, survival of sexual abuse, and the courage to lead.

We all make choices every day. Sometimes every hour. Make good ones today, and read about the ones others are making.
