The main Back to the Future cast came together for the first time in America in over 30 years and fans loved it
Back to the Future was one of those movies that made an impact on many peoples lives. It is a simple story involving two unlikely friends who take a trip of a lifetime. All three films take people to the past, the distant future and to the old west. In each of these timelines these companions have a job to do, and somehow they come together to finish each mission. Once it was all over neither of their lives would ever be the same way again, in a good way. It has been over thirty years since these movies came out, hard to believe it has been that long. The main cast had a special panel at Silicon Valley Comic Con and our own Jay Snook was there to see it. It was one of the best panels this convention had and here is his take on it.
Like many of the attendees at Silicon Valley Comic Con, when the news broke online that these three people were coming together again I was ecstatic. It had been a long time since fans got to see them together in one place, and for many it would be the first time they could ask these people some of their burning questions about these influential movies. When the panel began and the cast came on stage the whole hall went nuts. Everyone was so happy to get to see Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson and Christopher Lloyd up there and it was clear they were glad to be there. After the cast were asked a few questions by the moderator, who also was a fan, the next part of the panel began.
It was the part everyone had been waiting for, the Q and A portion of the panel. Both lines got full really fast, and there where some amazing questions asked. The cast was always more than happy to answer them and there was even a great moment when a person who also had Parkinson’s disease was able to ask Michael J. Fox a bit about how he dealt with it daily and it was a wonderful interaction to witness.
Overall it was an amazing panel that was unlike anything this writer has ever seen before. This personally is a trilogy he loves and it was an honor to get to be so close to these stars and find out information about these movies that he had never heard before. The only sad thing was it seemed to go by too soon. It was like being in a dream and having the alarm go off at the best part. Yet it was magical and the cast was so kind and it was clear they are enjoyed looking back on these films as much as everyone else did.
The cast was there to sign autographs and take photos, with Michael J. Fox only being in attendance on Saturday. There was also two amazing photo ops for the die hard fans. One was getting a picture with Christopher Lloyd near a replica of the DeLorean, and the other one was a professional photo with the three cast members. This Spotlight on Back to the Future was one of the events that made this convention amazing and it was a shame for those who had to miss it. It was one of those rare moments at a convention that fans are sure to be talking about for years to come.
