‘The Amateur’ is out now on Digital
I enjoy watching thrillers at times. They can take viewers of all ages on a pretty intense journey when they are done correctly. When I heard The Amateur was being released on Digital, I hoped I might get to finally watch it. I was able to get a digital copy of this movie and here is what I thought of it.

Charlie Heller (Malek) is a brilliant, but deeply introverted decoder for the CIA working out of a basement office at headquarters in Langley whose life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a London terrorist attack. When his supervisors refuse to take action, he takes matters into his own hands, embarking on a dangerous trek across the globe to track down those responsible, his intelligence serving as the ultimate weapon for eluding his pursuers and achieving his revenge.

Overall this was an alright movie. There are some good action scenes and a few surprises as the plot moves forward. The cast is wonderful and do a great job bringing their characters to life. My main issue was the plot was pretty slow, and took a good while to get interesting. The ending was not bad and does a fine enough job bringing this film to a close. ‘The World’ tells the process of finding the perfect locations to really help make this story feel grounded. ‘The Pool’ reveals the process of how a pivotal scene from this movie was done and some challenges the crews faced making it. There are also some nice deleted scenes.
