I’m a 44-year-old writer and father of three, based in Staffordshire. I’ve worked in the voluntary sector for over two decades, with experience in homelessness, youth work, mental health, and substance misuse support. Much of my professional life has involved listening to people’s stories — often unspoken or overlooked — and this work continues to inform the emotional core of my writing.

I've recent;y completed my debut novel 'Inside the Suit' It grew out of a real-life encounter with a man in a giant panda costume. That image stayed with me — both comic and deeply human — and became the starting point for a story about identity, pride, vulnerability, and emotional silence.

I’ve always been an avid reader, but only recently began writing fiction myself. My work focuses on the quiet struggles that shape ordinary lives: the relationships between fathers and sons, the impact of economic pressure on mental health, and the ways people perform roles — sometimes to protect others, sometimes to protect themselves.

I’m especially drawn to stories that centre working-class characters and explore masculinity with emotional honesty. Inside the Suit is a love letter to small acts of care, and to the dignity found in simply showing up.
