Putting brats, thugs and litterbugs in their place, this vigilante good-guy is saving the world with a boppy beat.

I will readily, though not without some degree of embarrassment, admit that Psy’s Gangnam Style got caught in my head, and I may or may not have found myself bopping my head whenever it came on. But, as someone with a hair-line trigger for materialism and sexism and, well, all sorts of isms, I just didn’t like the video at all. I know, humorless feminist and all that.
Ironically, I am neither.
But if you watch this awesome video for Open The Door by Lim Chang Jung, you’ll see the comparison. With a twist. This one is about having good manners. About NOT being a materialistic, sexist, selfish, litterbug, among other things.
I honestly don’t know enough about South Korean pop culture to know if this is a song or a PSA, but watching it, I loved the message. Just a single stand-up guy, fixing the ills of society, with the power of a simple watchful gaze.
I like it. It’s almost as simple as “pay attention,” and “treat each other well.” Also, yes, totally bopping my head. It’s catchy. Really catchy.
Let’s try and get this one to go viral, because it’s something we all need to catch.
My understanding of Gangnam style was that it was poking fun at the materialist culture of a region of South Korea that shares a strong resemblance to Rodeo Drive or similar opulent materialist zones of USA etc. it seems right up your alley… :/
That said; This was a nice track too (and much more obvious delivery of message in video) although to my ear a little more monotonous than Psy’s hit. Thanks for sharing!
