Now that I’ve been a father for just short of a decade, I’m learning so much about each of the stages of child development. With Theo, I was learning as I went, but with Uzi, I know what’s coming, and I am able to trust the process more. I’m able to sit back and enjoy the ride, watch my baby discover and learn new things without the same fear I had with Theo. I’m watching our youngest child begin to understand, as he becomes more conscious of his surroundings, and is forming a desire to learn, help, and participate the same way his older siblings are. Uzi is learning fast because he is able to imitate what his older siblings model in terms of behavior, and it has made this chapter much easier. When it comes to serving our family, Uzi’s desire, effort, and baby steps toward becoming an active participant in our family is his way of serving the household. I am confident that the desire will turn to habit, the effort will turn to success, and the baby steps will soon become leaps and bounds as he inches closer to toddler and moves away from baby. #BELEAFINFATHERHOOD
