Let’s face it; life is busy – your life is busy. It’s not always an option to get in a workout, a run or a full yoga session. But with all the research showing the benefits of exercise for mental health, we shouldn’t skip our sweat sesh either.
A recent study, published in the Journal of Affective Disorders, showed that in just after three days of ceasing regular exercise participants experienced a significant increase in depressive symptoms.
So if we need to exercise and we’re super busy, what do we do? There are a few exercises, five to be exact, that any working person can squeeze into their tight calendar and I want to share them with you. The five activities are called the 5 Tibetan Rites.
The Five Tibetan Rites are sometimes called the “fountain of youth” because they strengthen and stretch all the major muscles in your body. Think qi gong meets hatha yoga.
Bonus: these exercises take no more than ten minutes.
Each repetition is practiced twenty-one times, however, feel free to start with five to seven reps – whatever feels most comfortable. You can also work at your speed; take your time or do the repetitions a bit faster for a stronger workout.
Check out the exercises here!
