Relationship problems are a nightmare for many people. There are so many different emotions and decisions that can go wrong, causing the relationship to falter or even fall apart. How can you tell if your partner is right for you? The answer can be quite complex, but there are some clear signs you might be able to recognize that would help point out whether or not your partner is actually the one for you.
If you and your partner would like to make your relationship more stable and healthy, take some time to look over the following list. It will help you to see exactly where you’re at this moment and what you can work on together.
1. You Don’t Put Each Other Down
One of the first signs that a relationship may not be working is when you notice that your partner is putting you down in some way or another. This can happen in both major and minor ways.
For example, maybe you notice that your partner is making jokes about you behind your back or that they’re calling you names on a regular basis. This can be seriously damaging to the relationship. It may even make you feel worthless or like you don’t deserve to be in their company.
If there are times when your partner does put down the way that you look, behave, or act, then it’s important for them to apologize for doing so. It’s equally important that you do the same. You should also make sure that you’re not putting your partner down in some way or another.
2. Your Partner Doesn’t Put You Down
This may seem a bit contradictory to the previous point, but it’s actually not a bad idea to put your partner down when you feel the need to. This can actually be an important way of keeping your relationship fresh and alive while also helping it to remain healthy and thriving.
Your partner should be able to stand you, even when you act a certain way. If they can’t handle that, then your relationship may not be in good shape. They should also feel the same way about you as well.
3. You’re Each Other’s Best Friend
One of the things that makes a great relationship is when one person is able to become their partner’s best friend while at the same time retaining their own sense of self-worth and identity. It’s also not a bad idea to keep some separate activities and interests that you do on your own. You should each be able to do your own thing without having to worry about the other.
4. Your Partner Shows You Affection
The way you feel when someone shows you love and affection can tell you a lot about how healthy your relationship is. If your partner is putting a lot of effort into showing you that they love and care for you, then this will go a long way in helping to make it more satisfying.

5. You Make Each Other Laugh
One of the best ways to make a relationship work is when you and your partner can joke around together and keep things light and fun. This is one of the most beneficial aspects of being in a healthy relationship that involves two people who are best friends.
6. You Have Fun Together
Another positive aspect of being in a good relationship is having fun together. This can be done in many different ways and for different reasons. However, you will notice that if you and your partner aren’t having fun together, then you may need to take some time to reassess whether the relationship is still within the bounds of being healthy.

7. You Respect Each Other
One of the most damaging things that people do when they’re in a relationship is to disrespect their partner in some way or another. This can happen in a number of ways. For example, it can be actual name-calling or saying something about their appearance or attitude. It can also come out as withholding information or refusing to communicate with them for no good reason.
8. You Can Be Vulnerable & Reveal Your Real Self To Each Other
You may find that when you’re able to reveal your true self to your partner, it helps to make the relationship more honest and meaningful. It’s also an important way of deepening your connection.
9. You March To The Beat Of A Different Drummer
One of the most beneficial aspects of a relationship is that you don’t need to change who you are or compromise on things that are important to you. On the other hand, if you find yourself having to compromise too much and not being true to yourself, then this can be a sign that there are issues in your relationship that need to be addressed.
