An Ode to Emptiness
Born into beliefs where everything has meaning
Words have meaning
Authority has meaning
Perception has meaning
Curious why other belief systems would value emptiness
How do you find meaning where there is none?
If there is no meaning to find what else awaits?
But a paradox can be a beautiful thing
Nothing is valuable because it makes room for Everything
When your limiting beliefs have room to fly away
And you are left uncertain in your empty vessel
The most vibrant life can spring forth within
Where there is no meaning you can create it
Defying all the Supposed To Be beliefs you know
You can choose what authentically Is
Meaning can burden you right into a hell
Where each detail has so much depth that every meaning is an immediate priority all at the same time
But breathe in
And then breathe out
And the only priority is observation of you
Looking down at yourself
Seeing this suffering form
Burdened by the beliefs of others
When the truth is so light and free
Appearances are often larger than they appear
And if the unseen were more highly prized
The physical world would benefit soon after
“All You Need Is Love” is more than a whimsical song
It is greatest thing that could ever happen to you
And sometimes it is best found in Nothing
You don’t have to be where you are
As Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God is within you.”
But we are more likely to find a broken heart than a kingdom
So let it go and start again
Emptiness can be a very good friend.
