In recent headlines, White House Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon, has been shown the door and would be returning to Breitbart. Go ahead and cheer. It’s a victory of a sort, so get it out of your system. If you’re like me, there is no room for Bannon’s extreme Right agenda, and it has no place in our government. This does not mean the fight is over.
Remember, Bannon was ousted because of Trump’s inability to call out White Nationalists in Charlottesville, which should have been the easiest thing he could have ever done in his time in the White House.
Instead, his reticence to do so has potentially divided the nation even further. Bannon was sacrificed as part of the game of distraction the Trump Administration keeps moving to distract Citizens from the abuses, the malfeasance and often-nearly criminal activity we are not privy to because of the lack of transparency in the White House.
Personally, I look at the events in Charlottesville as both inevitable and expected given the racial climate Trump fostered as part of his campaign to get into office. While we are watching Trump tweeting from his toilet seat at 3:00 AM, we are not keeping an eye on his wealth-building from the Oval Office. We aren’t pay attention to the rumors of collusion with the Russian government.
We forget about the other incompetents (yes, Mitt Romney and Betsy DeVos, I’m talking about you) he has placed in offices across the nation, in charge of the air we breathe, the water we drink and safety from corporations more concerned with profits than your survival, no matter how counter-intuitive it might be to kill the people who are your consumers.
We forget about the legislators he’s putting into the Supreme Court, about the judges being confirmed across the nation whose extreme conservative views will alter legislation years after he’s gone.
Bannon is gone but not forgotten. His sacrifice in the game does not stop him from being able to influence the White House. After all, he still has a telephone right? We all know Trump loves to talk on the phone.
Let’s keep our eye on the long game, shall we? Trump’s legacy may take a generation to erase, even if we were somehow able to get rid of him tomorrow. Resistance is only the first step.

What do you think?
What do you think is the solution for dealing with White Nationalism’s invasion of the government and positions of social influence in America? Can it be avoided? Can it be stopped? Or is it simply too late to do anything about it?
Is the media doing everything it can to hold the Trump Administration accountable?
Is there another way we should look at taking this administration to task for the appointment of officials who are clearly opposed to or incapable of doing the jobs they have been appointed for?
What kind of safeguards should be implemented in the government to prevent candidates like Trump from running for office in the future?
