Have you ever gotten sidetracked and forgotten your core values? You know, the traffic is so bad, people almost run you off the road, and you have clients you scream and lament because they cannot get past blame? Yeah, those kinds of days.
Recently, for example, today, that was my experience.
I lost sight of my desires to write, card creating went out the door, and I questioned my existence. Yes, me the life coach, educator, and counselor forgot my why. Today, I was reminded by good people, that I matter and they are grateful for my work. So, tonight I am sharing some affirmations I am going to be repeating this whole weekend. Let’s remind ourselves when we are exhausted that where our focus goes, our energy flows.
Powerful thought? Yes. Here we go:
I constantly check in on how well I am doing with the day to day experience in my life. Keeping connected with how things are going allows me to stay on track.
I only look back at the past when I wish to evaluate how much progress I have made. It is rewarding to see where dedication takes me.
My personal goal of capturing words on paper or taking a photograph of nature inspires my soul. Although I have limited financial resources, I still move ahead with plans and dream of fun places to travel. I know that my commitment is spot-on when I set out to accomplish something meaningful.
I do what I can every day to keep the artist alive inside.
Creating cards, drawing, or painting are only three talents I have, and Instead of dwelling on how much I neglected them, or how far I am from the completed projects, I look back and smile at my progress.
It is important to remind myself that it only takes one step to move away from my starting point. Each one that I take allows me to bid farewell to thoughts of doubt.
Even slow progress awakens the inner explorer, creative, and empath.
I consider even small wins to be the fruits of my labor. Like a plant that grows slowly, I advance myself by nurturing myself and pulling out weeds of doubt. Even checking in with trusted friends and family, I seek to find validation in myself first, and support others as they travel this road of life with me.
The day of getting to the top of the hill is nearer than I imagine.
Knowing I am on my way, there is enough positive focus to keep me climbing.
Today, it puts a smile on my face to see myself making progress, regardless of how small. I am ready to waltz right through any walls between me and my goals. The walls might be mental blocks, or fear, they might be real or imagined. Either way, I am ready to face them and step toward the next milestone in my personal healing journey.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- What are some things I think about to keep doubt out of my mind?
- How sincerely do I believe anything is possible?
- Which of my goals can bring me the most tremendous sense of fulfillment?
While we can spend tons of time on unnecessary activities, it makes sense to stop the chaos inside and answer the questions above.
What holds you back?
Sometimes it is work, life, or health challenges.
Maybe its your relationship?
Whatever you discover, as you affirm your choices and your next steps, you’ll gain confidence and feel empowered. The great news? Once you start empowering others after your cup is full, they will glean from the overflow of joy in your life. They will see it, wonder how you got it, and then find hope in your story. Go get em’!
