The Divine Paradox
By Andrea Wilburn

But you are His Kingdom
A spark of the Divine enlightens you
And is inherent to who you are
I am not God
But I do create
I create meaning
I choose my beliefs
I live a life no one else can
Like you live a life no one else can
We create who we are
What we like
What we don’t like
What we grow to like
Who we grow to be
Nothing in life is fair
Because there is a Grace that gives us more than we earn
We have so much untapped power to be peace
Yet in all our failures God’s power still meets us
Showing us more kindness whether we notice it or not
We live in a distorted world
Where the shadow of a very small thing
Can leave our hearts dark and trembling
But if we were to be a little more light
We would see that shadow is just a distortion
That is cast from a very small thing
Buddhism tells me Fear is a construct
A man made choice I built in my mind
A personal choice we each make
In order to fail in the most painful way
But after you fail
You achieve in hindsight
And you never have to fail that way again
Love is not a construct
It is our natural home
Where we fit and where we prosper
We don’t have to build it
It is who we are
Before we existed we were loved
Imagined by God and chosen to exist
We were loved and we wanted to create love too
So here we are
Learning to be the home that we left
So that we might grow to be a home to others
We have the power to create where we have been
To turn the darkest corner of an orbiting rock
To turn the darkest fear of a frail heart
Into a loving home where our kingdom has a currency of peace
Share your peace so that I may grow
And I can share my peace that you may grow
And our world will make money look like some abandoned relic from a primitive culture
Past times thought they were so futuristic
Advancing far beyond their ancestors
But then another generation advanced far beyond them
It is time to advance from what is comfortable and allegedly safe
And progress further towards reality instead of fears
Love is simple
But never easy
But as you build knowing
You can create all the more
What does Love look like to you?
What are you doing to be that image?
Is a dream you fall short of any worse than never dreaming at all?
Your beliefs are allowed to grow
Failures are allowed to end their failing
You are allowed to be as new as you choose
You have learned what pain is
Now learn what freedom is
You’ve got this.
