First Time Getting Bantu Knots

So, what is really cool about an experience like this is I feel like I’ve been invited to these types of things, and it never feels like it’s for me. But this felt like it was for me. They had a bunch of stylists in the room from Ulta. Many of them looked like me, and none of them were afraid to put their hands in my hair. So, that’s not something that is naturally the case, and I love being able to talk. This young lady’s name is Stacy. I’m with Stacy Ann. Stacy Ann is a beautiful soul, and she is a fellow Gemini. That was something we bonded over.

Anywho, she convinced me to try out Bantu knots, which I’ve been wanting to do but haven’t done them. So, we got into this, and I ended up liking it. Thank you. And it feels so tight. Homegirl was styling my hair. She used no rubber bands, no bobby pins, no nothing. At first, we were going to do just the top, but then I was like, nah, let’s just go for it. And so, she did the whole head. She laid my edges. She hooked your girl up. Then you can kind of see how tight my scalp. Yeah, I like it. Like it. You know what’s cool about this too? As she was doing it, I was like, I feel like Tracee Ellis Ross just recently styled her hair this way. I love your hair. I thought it was really unique and beautiful. But at this point, I was like, man, I don’t think Tracee Ellis Ross is coming because it’s getting late. Yeah, I was like, man, this might be a scam, but you know, at least we got self-care.
