I had trained the world around me how to see me… And I was telling the world that I wasn’t special.

Let me tell you my story like I’ve never been vulnerable enough to tell it before.
When I started writing and speaking several years ago, I did it on the side. I was an assistant manager at a failing wine bar. I dealt with overdraft fees almost constantly because I barely made enough money to survive. It was miserable and humiliating. I had succeeded in life up until then and I had always had close friends, but now all I could find was unfulfilling work and I felt too ashamed to show up vulnerable in my relationships.
I had a problem with valuing myself… and so I only found jobs that didn’t see my value, and since I didn’t think I was worth helping, I was facing my hardest challenges alone.
I had trained the world around me how to see me… And I was telling the world that I wasn’t special. I was telling the world that I was disposable. I was telling the world that I deserved to be alone and unhappy.
What’s more, I was wasting my best years. I was doing nothing when I had the most capacity to be creating my best work. I felt like I was wasting my life. I was way off my purpose, and I could feel it.
When I closed my eyes, I could feel how desperately I wanted to live a better life. I could feel that I was meant to do something more. I felt like the world didn’t see me for who I really was.
I knew I wanted out of the work and worry treadmill, so I started working to systemize my approach to create a better life. I spent my precious side hours working on me. I invested time into myself. I spent time searching for my purpose and I found it again, it had always been there, shining at me. Life started to improve.
I gave this coach $150, and a promise for 3 more payments like that… Within a week, I had gone out and landed a client worth exactly 10x the amount I spent on myself. Life started to improve.
Then I started to ask for help because I realized I had something big to do – something bigger than myself. So I got more people in my rowboat who believed in me and who saw the value of my purpose. I hired a business coach to help me learn how to make money with it, because that wasn’t my strong suit. I couldn’t really afford him – but I invested in myself because I’m the best tool I have. I gave this coach $150, and a promise for 3 more payments like that… Within a week, I had gone out and landed a client worth exactly 10x the amount I spent on myself. You can’t find a 10x multiplier on any stock exchange. Life started to improve.
Since those days, I won’t lie, it’s sometimes still a struggle. There are ups and downs to entrepreneurship. I’ve been back in hot water a few times. But the difference is that now when I meet challenge, I see that the solution starts with me. I find ways to invest in myself. I look for ways to improve my team. I search for systems to help bridge the gaps of my blind spots.
It was in that forge that the EmpowerMentorship Institute was made. Since I began teaching the system of the EMI, I’ve seen men find their dream jobs, meet and marry their dream partner, and create their dream businesses… this system works for anything.
I myself have written 5 best selling books, I’ve been paid to speak internationally, I’ve been interviewed on TV, Radio, Print and podcasts… and now I get to do what I love everyday.
If you are in a situation where you’re ready to move on from an unfulfilling and alone life. If you need a swift kick in the pants and a team who has your back. If you’re waiting for a calling to jolt you into action… let this be your calling. Don’t wait another day.
Don’t escape into a screen or answer an unimportant email or make an excuse about your obligations. THIS is the moment you’ve been waiting for… this is the moment when you are allowed to say YES to yourself.
If you are ready to to do more and live better, make this your big YES moment.
