The open relationship is at odds with what might be considered traditional values, but is it at odds with inherent goodness?
We’re excluding deceit—which I think we can all agree is at odds with goodness—in this conversation and limiting it strictly to relationships which are both consensual and where everyone in the them knows that the relationship is a polyamorous one. Can you be a good man (or woman) and still have sex with more than one partner?
Are such relationships sustainable over the long-term or are they doomed to fail because of human jealousy? If they are doomed to fail, does that make the people in them “bad?”
Are you in love with all of your partners? If so, does that make these relationships “good?” Is it only “bad” if some of them are just sexual in nature?
Is monogamy inherently good? Or is it just seen as more acceptable culturally and therefore is “good” by default?

I think the only way a man can be good if he is involved with several partners is if he brings all of them under the same roof. Living together.
So when all five women are ill at the same time,it is possible for him to bring chicken soup and tender loving care to all of them the same day.
Same amount of love, caring and protection to each partner.
No, a man can not be in multiple sexual/romantic relationships and still be a good man.
Of course, it’s just fine for a woman, if that’s what she wants to do.

Now, in case you’re totally clueless, the above was said in jest.
Here’s what I am wondering: It’s 2017. Why are you posing this as as question? Have you run out of meaningful things to discuss?
Maybe you want to ask if a homosexual man can be a good man. That would be another good discussion…NOT!
I think you missed a couple of things: Any man who wants an open relationship is a man child who is a slave to his libido and the porn to which he is quite clearly addicted. Any woman in an open relationship is sexually liberated. Any man who doesn’t want an open relationship when his female partner pushes for one is a controlling pig, using his systemic patriarchal privilege to control her desires. Let’s drop in “rape culture” too. Any woman who doesn’t want an open relationship when her male partner pushes for one is being completely reasonable in fighting… Read more »
