Big Agriculture is just as under fire as any other industrial process for the same reasons. Big Agriculture has highly destructive aspects which can affect the long-term health of the soils and the environment in which such efforts are made.
Big Agriculture includes widespread farms that produce non-food crops like corn for ethanol and soybeans for industrial uses as well as exports. Big agriculture also includes meat production and the potentially dangerous side effects of chicken, pork, and beef production in the United States (and around the world).
As meat becomes more of a staple in the third world diet, the development of farming concerns, where meat is concerned has become one of the fastest-growing erosive forces on Earth, destroying rainforests and exhausting food basins.
Are there any alternatives to the processes we used to grow meat and are there means of protecting us from the hazards and threats of food production such as antibacterial-resistant diseases, air and water pollution, toxic environmental runoff.
