I Remember
By Giselle Galletan
I remember the visits
I remember the letters
I remember the phone calls
But sadly I don’t remember our memories
The love and the hate I feel for you.
It’s been 14 years
Yet no sign from you.
Not Your Bebe Anymore
By Giselle Galletan
I was three years old. How was I supposed to know?
Go to visits that I didn’t even know about but still got excited
Because I knew I was going to see you.
Receiving cards from you once a week
Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Thanksgiving, Miss you
cards would truly make me happy.
The phone calls where I could not hear your voice since the visits stopped
But eventually the calls stopped too.
Your cards still made me happy though, reading that
You love me, miss me, and the once that hurt me most
“I’m going home soon.”
That lie hurt me every time you said it. I always
Responded and asked when, but you always ignored the question.
I have grown up. I’m not your “bebe” anymore. I still love you,
And of course I still miss you! But where are you? I know you’re out
But you haven’t called, you haven’t sent anything,
No sign of you.
It’s been 14 years.
Yes, I still love you
And yes, I miss you!
