What if you saw the word PEAC
What would you assume the word to be?
With E is could become peace and with H it could become Peach
What was it for you?
I could tell you why you selected the letter you did but I will let you find it out for yourself
What if you read this word in a sentence?
I would like to eat it in peac_
What letter did you select now?
And what if I tell you that the context to the statement was a person asking what flavour the cake would be?
Did your answer change?
Sometimes so it happens that the word selection completely depends on the context and the context changes the meaning of selected word. But what if someone else has written the text and we don’t have much idea about the context?
Could we then conclude that there are chances of misinterpretation when the context is obscure?
The state of mind, the situation, the experiences of writer are subject to change. Just like everything else in the world. It could be disastrous, in my opinion, to blindly consume the text written by someone you don’t know, without deliberately reflecting upon it.
And we should be aware that we more often than not read the texts in front of us in the context of our lives.
So next time you see something and confidently say that it’s either peace or peach, make sure you have paused to pick up the context.
Happy interpreting!
