Being aware of what’s going on with your body is extremely important. Unfortunately, we can have problems that occur and never know it. Regularly scheduled exams aid in good health. Most women will often visit their doctor when something seems off or unnatural. Men sometimes dread doctor visits and are less likely to schedule checkups. Screenings are significantly relevant for both men and women.
Hall of Famer Pro Football player Michael Haynes understands all too well what it means to know your stats. After attending a prostate cancer screening and receiving his PSA (test results), he scheduled a visit with his primary care doctor. There, he received news of a spike in over the past couple of years. Although his doctor didn’t view his results to be threatening, Michael knew very little about his history involving cancer, so his doctor recommended a biopsy. The results showed cancer in nine of twelve places checked. Today Michael has teamed up with Dr. Benjamin Lowentritt to raise awareness with the Know Your Stats campaign.
