This is a clever trellis idea for a small space. Two planters, minimum tools, and a weekend. Done!

“It’s summertime and the livin’ is easy”. Grab your favorite beverage and head out to the patio/deck to enjoy some fresh air. What a great way to while away the time and relax after a long day. Then you notice how open and exposed your space feels. What could you do to create a little seclusion? It needs to be something simple and easy. Aha! – privacy trellis.

This is a clever trellis idea for a small space. Minimum tools required and can easily be completed over a weekend.
◊♦◊
1: Build the trellis, space the two legs to fit into the pots.
2: Cut the pvc legs and drain pipe half the height of the pots.
3. Place the trellis into the pvc sleeves and position in pots, place drain, fill pots with concrete mix just below top of drain.
4: Allow concrete to cure per manufacturer instructions.
5: Fill pot with soil, plant fast growing vine. Preferably a flowering vine.
Try a cardinal climber, or my favorite fall blooming clematis.

Materials list: 2×2 for trellis, two large terra-cotta pots, concrete mix, four pvc sleeves for legs, two pvc drains, screws or nails for trellis, sealer. The size of the trellis is up to you, make it fit your space.

Quick tip: Cut the pieces for the trellis and seal, stain, or paint before assembling.

Tom, you’re bugging me now ……
Please stop with these great ideas?!?! I HATE digging holes and now you’ve made it easy. I’m running out of excuses. I have three spare rooms, you’re more then welcome to move in any time. Heck, for that matter, you can have the whole damn house and my wife and I can just stay in the master bedroom.
You two are cracking me up! Tom, you gotta watch giving Tom G those kind of challenges. He’s likely to appear on your doorstep with a sign that says “take me to your workshop!”
