On Dec 25, 2014 I made the commitment not to live in the world I grew up in anymore which was defined for me as a nice house with the white picket fence, married forever, work a job just to make me feel good that I provide for a family and go through the motions of daily life. My passion of going deep, learning more about me has been the spiritual path that I’ve been searching for close to twenty years as I’ve defined it for me. I love the world we live in, I don’t want to leave it for some monastery or ashram. That wouldn’t be me. I’m a father of three who adores his children, very close friends to those who want to play this game with me and called to teach what I’m learning along the way.
The game I’m describing is the Life in between – The Magical Life. It’s being grounded firmly with one foot in the real world, a.k.a. Reality and one foot in the spiritual world a.k.a Spirituality. As I write I can only see it from the world I’m creating for myself and looking for some friends to join.
Here are the principles, laws, or whatever one may want to call it.
Reality
Goes through the motions of the seven days of the week. Goes to work, school for five of the seven days. Grows up as Monday is the most dreaded day of the week and Friday at 5pm is the best day of the week or Happy Hour. Most of the real world can’t stand the work week and we make ourselves better by each complaining about our jobs, circumstances, spouse, children, politics, etc. A life surrounded my negativity or negative energy. Sunday were accustomed to follow the religious path we were born into and its that day we can connect with our Creator. In my case being raised Catholic my place was the Church. I’m to go to a place whereby a bunch of the people who dread Monday, look forward to the Friday at 5pm and then we all pray together for a better life. Hmmm don’t think that is the way it works, at least for me.
Spirituality
Knows nothing about days of the week, work life, religion or anything the above I mentioned.
The Magical Life
We understand that there are seven days of the week however we are not defined by them. Monday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday we are grateful for all of them. One day has no more power than any other day. With one foot in reality we know we need to earn to support our families however at the same time we know life is a mirror. If we don’t like a job or who we work with we must do the inner work to find out why to get the lesson. We don’t live a life of blaming anyone or anything for our circumstances. We take full responsibility. We don’t like something we must change inside first and allow the outside work to follow. We are positive people by nature and our motto is we never give up on the life we want. We understand our upbringing. We don’t need a church, ashram, synagogue, monastery to get closer to God. We all have the ability to establish that connection. We understand this is a key component to living the magical life. Make our relationship with the Creator, God, Universe our priority and work on it daily.
This is a little example of The Magical Life. The Magical Life is having the inner knowing we have so much power to create the world we want and not let the reality of the world dictate our lives.
My Magical Life doesn’t see a world of race, it sees a world of all my brothers and sisters struggling to each find our place in the world. The blood that flows through my veins is the same blood that flows through yours. We are all one. We are all connected. This is the game I play, the game of life.
Live Brave,
Chris
