Don’t get too attached to who you are right now.
I mean it.
That version of you — however familiar or safe — might not be the one who can take you where you need to go. Sometimes, the kindest thing you can do for yourself is to let go… just enough to grow.
I scroll my album last night found my graduation picture look at myself smiling and happy, deep inside I believe that guy was weak. He say yes to everything, no voice, no strength. My message to him:
“I’m grateful you changed. Thank you for let me carry us the rest of the way”
I buried that version of myself about ten years ago.
Not because I hated him.
But because I loved him.
I just knew he wasn’t strong enough for what was coming. And that’s not a bad thing — it just means he brought me as far as he could.
Change isn’t comfortable. It messes with your routine, your sense of self. Sometimes it even hurts.
But some parts of us aren’t meant to last forever. That’s not a failure. That’s life. That’s evolution.
Tom Cruise said something once that stuck with me:
“You’re not afraid of failure or success. You’re afraid of the unknown.”
And yeah, that hit.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
It’s okay not to know.
It’s okay to say, “I’m scared. I feel it.”
You don’t need to pretend to be fearless.
Just keep showing up.
You won’t learn to swim if you never jump into the pool.
You won’t know if you’re good a driver until you hit a busy road.
You won’t know your strength until you realized the hard way are the only way.
If you’re feeling sad or lost right now — if everything feels heavy — I just want to say:
You’re not alone.
Think about the version of you ten years from now.
That future you? They’re rooting for you right now.
That person is waiting.
That person believes in you.
They’re only real if you get through this moment.
They’re counting on you.
And they don’t need you to be perfect.
This… this right now? It’s part of the story.
The best love letter you’ll ever write isn’t to someone else.
It’s to yourself. The version of who you will become.
And the kind of love that really lasts?
It’s the kind that helps you grow.
