“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
Theodore Roosevelt
This quote is one I remember when I lack in some area of my life and I am desperately seeking to be authentic. It is humbling, to be able to look at your peers and celebrate what they are doing.
Embracing and coming to terms with where you are now can help you to manage your expectations. Embracing the now can also curb those desires to doom and gloom all over someone’s else’s success. Letting go of the destination disease is crucial. Obsess about your daily progression. Fall in love with your daily victories.
When you feel you stuck, shift: How will I grow? What will I adjust or change? What gifts/talents do I have that I am not using currently? Be objective about your mindset.
Enjoying who you are can be a catalyst to conquering the comparison trap. It does not matter how long it takes you to get to where you want to be, just as long as you don’t stop! Envy can cost you precious moments of action that could propel you into your destiny. Don’t miss your moment to shine because you’re consumed by what someone else has! Above all, celebrate yourself and who you are!

So simple, but so effective. I became a lot happier once I stopped comparing myself to others (or at least lessened how often I do it).
