The Star My Dada Became

I remember asking my aunt when I was little, “Where did Dada go?”
She looked at me, smiled gently, and said, “He’s still with us. But now… he’s a star.”

I didn’t fully understand it then.
But today, flipping through my old Geography book, that memory came back—and this time, it stayed.

I was reading about stars—how they don’t just shine, they burn.
They spend their entire lives giving off light, fusing atoms, holding themselves together… until they can’t.
And then, one day, they collapse—sometimes in a loud, brilliant explosion.
Sometimes so quietly, they just vanish into black holes.

And somehow, that felt… familiar.

We’re kind of like that, aren’t we?
Always giving. Always holding it together.
Smiling when we’re tired. Helping when we’re hurting.
Until one day, the weight feels too much.
And the light starts to dim.

But here’s something I didn’t know before—
Not all stars explode. Not all of them fall apart dramatically.
Some just… fade.
Softly. Quietly. With grace.

No one really talks about that.
About how survival doesn’t always look loud or fierce.
Sometimes, it’s just… waking up again.
Existing. Even when you don’t feel like it.
