- The Xbox 360 trails the PlayStation 3 in current resale value, selling for an average of $89.47.
- The PlayStation 3 is the most valuable member of the seventh console generation, reselling for an average of $100.68.
- The Wii comes third, at $70.06 on average.
With the Xbox 360 turning 20 in 2025, CS gaming site Clash.gg analyzed eBay sales prices over the last three months to see which seventh-generation consoles were currently most valuable.
The current resale prices of the seventh generation by comparison

The Xbox 360, released in November 2005, will turn 20 next year and will arguably be considered a ‘retro’ console as a result. It was released for an MSRP of $299, which now equates to $481.95 when accounting for inflation, and its current resale value sits at $89.47 based on eBay sales across the past three months.
Sony’s PlayStation 3, released a year later in November of 2006, currently holds the most value at a resale price of $100.68. However, it was released at nearly double the price of the Xbox 360, at $499.99, and with inflation accounted for, that would now equate to $779.18.
The cheapest of the seventh generation, the Nintendo Wii, resells for an average of $70.06 in 2024. It was the most affordable of the three, with its MSRP of $249.99 upon its November 2006 release, which would now be around $390.36 when accounting for inflation.
Commenting on the findings, Gabriele Asaro, Head of SEO and Research at Clash.gg, said, “Despite the age and mass production of the original Xbox 360, it’s nice to see it still holds its value 20 years on, and it will be interesting to see how much games and the console itself fluctuates with the recent closure of the Xbox 360 store. Additionally, the controversy surrounding the price of the PS5 Pro shows that Sony is no stranger to high prices on their consoles, and the PS3 being released at $200 more than its main competitors back in 2006 shows this.”
