As I sat on the edge of the old wooden pier, the sun dipping below the horizon, a sense of calm washed over me…
The possibility that dreams can come true is what makes life interesting, I thought, reflecting on the journey that had brought me here. The future belongs to those who believe in the truthfulness of their dreams, and I had always been a believer.
I invite you all to imagine stepping into a time machine and journeying back to your whimsical, carefree childhood.
Picture yourself once again climbing rooftops to touch the clouds or spreading your arms wide, believing you could fly.
What happened to all those dreams?
As a kid, I remember dreaming of becoming a dragon rider, embarking on quests to protect distant realms.
I imagined creating a sanctuary for wildlife, taking care of endangered species and accepting gratitude as my only reward.
I dreamt of building a time machine after my brother joked about wanting to meet dinosaurs.
I wanted to discover a hidden island, a place untouched by civilization where I could find ancient treasures and secrets. The Pacific Ocean, with its vast and mysterious expanse, always captivated my imagination.
I had countless dreams like these. They were like hidden gems, filling my heart with excitement and curiosity.
As I got older, I forgot what it’s like to dream. I remember the first time I really dared to dream after a very long time. It was a cold winter’s night, the kind that leaves your breath hanging in the air like unspoken words.
“Be the change you wish to see in this world”, I told myself, echoing the wisdom of Gandhi.
It was a daunting thought, but our desires are premonitions of the abilities that lie within us, harbingers of what we will be able to achieve. I knew then that I was on a path that demanded courage.
“All dreams can come true if we have the courage to follow them”, Walt Disney once said, and I clung to that belief. We can only realize our dreams when we decide to wake up to them, and I was determined to awaken fully.
Every step, every decision was a brushstroke on the canvas of my life. He who has achieved all his goals has chosen them as too low, I reminded myself, pushing ever forward.
Blaming society for crushing your dreams is easy. It’s much harder to accept that you let them fade away.
You were the one who allowed self-doubt and fear to seep in, poisoning your aspirations, and slowly extinguishing the flames of your passions until they suffocated and died.
In the room where you once dreamt of incredible adventures, you buried those dreams.
In my heart, I was a visionary, dreaming fantasies and turning them into reality.
But you see and say
— Why?
But I dream and say
— Why not?
George Bernard Shaw’s words resonated deeply with me. I know from undeniable experience that dreams lead to self-knowledge, a journey inward as much as it was outward.
The night I stood in front of a crowded room and declared, “I have a dream”, I was not just quoting Martin Luther King; I was baring my soul.
Nothing makes us more cowardly and unscrupulous than the desire to be loved by all people, yet in that moment, the fear of rejection melted away. He who tames his desires is always rich, and I felt an inner wealth beyond measure.
Sixty seconds lost in contemplation offer a brief respite for both body and mind. In those quiet moments, under the vast expanse of the night sky, my mind wandered freely.
You know what? If you want to make a man happy, add nothing to his wealth, but give him hope and a vision.
It was then I understood the true nature of contentment.
Ideas are the beginning of all fortunes. The true wealth lies in harboring dreams within that are resilient against life’s trials.
John Lennon’s vision of unity was a beacon.
History is full of those who pursued their dreams despite society’s constraints. Who would have thought we could reach the depths of the Mariana Trench or explore the vastness of space?
Do you think society didn’t ridicule those dreams as “unrealistic”? But pioneers dared to dream big and ended up changing the course of history.
Vision entails the ability to perceive what is unseen.
Dreams and thoughts know no barriers.
No one can be happy without wishing, because happiness consists precisely in wishing.
Do not call yourself poor because your dreams have not come true; only those who have never dreamed are truly poor.
These truths became my mantras, guiding me through the labyrinth of life.
Only what we dream we really are, for everything else, because it is realized, belongs to the world and to all men. A wish can lose nothing more than by being fulfilled, yet I dared to wish, to dream.
Nothing is more powerful than an idea at the right time. The average man, not knowing what to do with this life, wishes for another that will last forever.
But for God’s sake!
I chose to storm the gates of the present, dreaming like I was living forever, living like I was storming today.
He who has no vision can neither fulfill great hopes nor realize great plans. One day, it may be acknowledged that our notion of reality is even more illusory than the realm of dreams.
The aspirations of yesterday shape today’s and tomorrow’s realities
Every wish, when fulfilled, instantly gives birth. People with a new idea are considered crackpots until the idea catches on. The glimmering shooting star is only visible as it fades.
Plans are the dreams of the wise. The desire to keep an animal arises from an ancient basic motive — namely the longing of mankind for the lost paradise.
Do not part with your illusions. When they are gone, you will still exist, but you will have ceased to live. In any case, you will miss one thing at the destination of your wishes: your journey to the goal.
Convince your heart that the anticipation of suffering surpasses suffering itself. And no heart has ever suffered when it was in search of its dream.
As I sit here now, gazing at the horizon, I understand that he who falls asleep in fear of a bad dream certainly does not dream well. The dream is the best proof that we are not as firmly enclosed in our skin as it seems.
Just as not everyone who sleeps dreams, not everyone who dreams sleeps either.
Don’t dream your life. Live your dream!
Everyone easily believes what he fears and what he desires. Dreams are true as long as we dream them, and are we not always living in a dream?
People firmly believe in what they wish for.
Envision a beautiful life and transform those visions into actuality.
I early realized that having a clear vision is not only refreshing but essential for personal growth and success. But even more beautiful than having visions is realizing them.
Fulfillment exists even amidst numerous unmet desires. Often, the quest to appear wise and competent obstructs genuine achievement. There’s a sense of fulfillment in passionately nurturing noble aspirations.
Don’t wish it were easier. Wish you could get better at it.
Pay attention to your thoughts! They are the beginning of your deeds.
Thinking is the work of the intellect, dreaming its pleasure. If a man has no fear, he has no imagination.
Don’t abandon your dreams, or you will be haunted by regret!
When you trust in your dreams, they ascend, rising above the society that once doubted you.
Dreams paint the world with awe and intrigue, reminding us that the world is not confined by limits but is shaped by the bravery to dream. Close your eyes and listen to your dreams; they sing a song of hope.
Never let the child within you, and the dreams he holds, die. Keep alive this magic world because
And so, as the last rays of the sun dipped below the horizon, I stood up, ready to face another day.
I knew that as long as I held onto my dreams, nurtured them with courage and conviction, they would guide me towards a future shaped by the truthfulness of my visions.
This tapestry of dreams, woven with threads of hope, ambition, and perseverance, would be my legacy…
