Stay with me for a minute.
Not for the likes. Not for the algorithm.
But because you need to hear this and I wish someone had told me too.
No one really prepares you for this part of healing.
The part that doesn’t feel like relief.
That doesn’t look like peace or sound like a “you got this” quote.
This part?
It feels like falling apart.
You cry for no reason.
You question everything.
You miss the very things that once broke you.
And it’s confusing, isn’t it?
Because everyone says, “Healing is beautiful.”
But right now, it doesn’t feel that way.
At first, you just feel… tired.
Not sleepy-tired.
Soul-tired.
Your smile feels heavy.
Conversations drain you.
You start pulling away from things that once felt familiar.
And here’s the scary part
You start pulling away from people.
Not because you want to hurt them.
But because for the first time, you’re hearing your own voice, and it’s begging you to stop pretending.
Then comes the grief.
Yes, grief.
Not just for people.
But for you.
The version of you who tolerated too much.
Who stayed quiet.
Who kept peace that came at the cost of your own.
You grieve the routine you outgrew.
You grieve the chaos that once felt like love.
You even grieve the hurt because at least it was something you knew how to survive.
That’s what no one tells you:
Letting go isn’t clean. It’s messy. It’s lonely. It’s real.
The silence feels strange.
There’s no noise now.
No crisis.
No drama to distract you.
Just… stillness.
And that stillness?
It feels like emptiness.
But maybe just maybe it’s space.
Space for something new.
Space for you.
You don’t need to fill it.
You don’t need to escape it.
You just need to sit in it.
Even if you’re shaking.
Then you meet yourself.
And she’s been waiting.
She’s not loud. Not perfect. Not ready for the world.
But she’s honest. Raw. Real.
She says things like:
“I don’t want to please everyone anymore.”
“I’m allowed to rest.”
“I don’t have to prove my worth.”
And suddenly, your boundaries feel like betrayal to others.
But they feel like coming home to you.
It’s not a straight path.
Some days, you’ll feel light again.
You’ll smile without effort.
You’ll laugh at stupid memes.
You’ll make tea and not overthink.
And then, out of nowhere, a wave hits.
Tears. Triggers. Doubt.
And you’ll think, “Am I back at the start?”
But no you’re not starting over.
You’re spiraling upward.
Every loop brings you back stronger.
You’re not broken. You’re becoming.
You’re letting go of survival.
You’re choosing yourself in tiny ways.
You’re saying no, even if your voice shakes.
You’re learning that peace isn’t loud it’s soft. And sometimes, silent.
Healing isn’t a before-and-after photo.
It’s crying in your room and showing up anyway.
It’s choosing not to text someone who makes you question your worth.
It’s making dinner for one, and still lighting a candle.
It’s ugly. And sacred. And yours.
Let me ask you something.
Have you felt this too?
That maybe healing hurts because you’re finally feeling what you buried?
You’re not alone.
And no you’re not doing it wrong.
If this landed somewhere soft inside you, share it.
Or just comment a “🩶”, so I know you’re here. Still standing. Still healing.
I’m proud of you.
Even if today doesn’t feel like progress.
