What are you going to do — A) leave it, B) take the money and run, C) what Sean Croghan did?
–––
I was walking up Alberta St. in Portland, Oregon with my sweetheart and I found $60 on the sidewalk, all wrapped up tip style with a name on a slip of paper.
I was stoked, I can always use some extra money but… since there was a name attached, I vowed to return the cash if at all possible.
The next day, I saw my buddy Dylan Howard. Since he works on Alberta not far from where I found the dough, I asked if he knew anyone with the name written on the tips I had found. He did, and with one text message we confirmed he was the same person had lost $60 on the day I had found it.
I never had to let on about my good luck, it would have been easy to say nothing and keep the money, but damn it feels a whole lot better getting the money back to the person who actually earned it. I am not looking for kudos, I already feeling on cloud nine.
Have a good week world!
