About Paul Hertneky
In 2016, Bauhan Publishing released my first book, a memoir of 26 braided essays entitled RUST BELT BOY: Stories of an American Childhood, well-reviewed and now in its third printing. That same year, Poets & Writers Magazine named me one of "5 over 50" notable authors. My stories, essays, and scripts have appeared widely, including The Boston Globe, Athens News, NBC News, The Comedy Channel, Gourmet, Eating Well, The Exquisite Corpse, National Public Radio, and Public Radio International. Over 28 years, my work has centered on culture, food, the environment, and travel, winning me a Solas Award, and two James Beard Award nominations. A graduate of the Bennington Writing Seminars, I teach in the MFA program of Chatham University.
