As the amount of rising entrepreneurs increases due to the expanding market of e-commerce and social networking, we find more and more people willing to take that first step into business ownership. This bravery to take a chance on your greatest aspirations does not always come easily. For many, diving into entrepreneurship means pursuing one of the most difficult kinds of balance: the balance between devotion to one’s dreams and devotion to those who will one day inherit them. Entrepreneurs often find that the investment in their family always reaps favorable benefits for those closest to them, and even helps their business(s) thrive. Entrepreneurs like Glen Levine, a founding partner of the Law Offices of Anidjar & Levine, P.A and father of three children, understand that true success in family and business is rooted in having positive influences and being a positive influence. Glen Levine shares how his legacy is more than a prosperous law firm, but family wealthy in love and devotion.
Glen Levine is a partner of one of the most flourishing law firms in southern Florida. Through much hard work, dedication, and the support of family, Levine and Mark Anidjar (his partner) have been able to turn their small, humble law firm into a prestigious, multi-location company. Anidjar and Levine built a company that not only produces great outcomes for their clients, but values family and community involvement. Furthermore, Levine and Anidjar thank the community that has helped bring their company such success by sponsoring and contributing to many charitable foundations. Levine, himself, became a staple in his southern Florida community by participating in a multitude of charity events and organizations, such as the Dolphins Cancer Challenge, the MADD 5k in Fort Lauderdale, the Crohn’s and Colitis team, National MS Society, The ALS Association and the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. In this interview, Glen Levine discusses how his background and family play a large part in how he accomplishes in his work life.
Glen Levine, who is originally from Plantation, Florida, had a strong upbringing. As the son of an attorney and builder, Levine attributes his unmatched work ethic and many more of his favorable characteristics to what he’s learned from his father. In many articles and interviews, Glen shares the profound impact that his father had on his success. He has previously discussed that his father assisted Glen and Marc when they first opened their law firm by offering them free office. Glen’s father demonstrated such excellence by paving his own way as a real estate developer in a family construction business. From an early age, Glen learns from his father a valuable lesson about what should be a top priority as a thriving entrepreneur. “Watching my father, I also learned that despite how much you may know about something, the relationships and people side of the business are also critical. Treating people with respect, even in a disagreement, will more often prove to be the most successful way to prosper in business.” expresses Levine. Business is about people. How one practices prioritizing the people closest to them, may be a distinct indicator on how they will run their business. “Loyalty in Business” is how Glen describes his father’s approach to his clients. He hopes that he embodies this kind of spirit so that his children will also value it.
We can only imagine the amount of time management and balance it takes to be a CEO and a full-time family member. Glen thoroughly explains how he establishes balance between running a business, parenting, and having good self-care practices. Levine, also, speaks about having effective expectations as a parent. “I make a point to carve out time to spend individually with each of my 3 kids and find that doing things one on one gives us an opportunity to bond in our own special way.” Says Levine. The little things, like putting away phones during quality time and finding unique ways to connect with each child, are profound ways in which a person can tell their family “I chose you”. This kind of time must be seen as inordinately precious because schedules change and so does life. Levine acknowledges these same sentiments by stating “Promising yourself that you’ll get to that special time with your kid tomorrow in exchange for staying late at the office today is a bad approach. Tomorrow is not a guarantee and by the time tomorrow arrives it may be too late.”.
Glen knows that another worthy investment to make outside of his business and family, is himself, his mental health, and personal endeavors. He recognizes the need to ‘clear his mind and stay focused on priorities’. He does this by staying consistent in the gym and riding his bicycles. Glen finds joy in hanging out with his family and in the achievements of his children.
Levine closes this interview by sharing updates on personal projects and projected endeavors for The Law Offices of Anidjar & Levine. Levine has hopes in the addition of a new file management software, which hopes would increase the ease of workflow. Increased work productivity certainly helps to keep management, employees, and especially clients satisfied. Glen remarks, “In the future, we look forward to continuing our growth while keeping that founding tradition of Client care as our focus”.
