The room is yellowish and green it is laid out with a center collection of cubicles. And a surrounding area of more cubicles. It is a cubicle hell. Each one has the blue cloth like substance on the inside and outside of the rooms. There are 13 windows, but really 26 cause there is a large window and then below it are smaller window that opened to let air in.
There is no other exit besides the front wood door in the front of the room located right next to the exit for the entire building. I had signed in and was waiting for my turn in the financial aid consultant’s office.
I am doing the typical survivor mode of finding exits and people who could hurt me. So far in the office I have seen only about 7 people two young ladies who are working the front desk assisting us future students. There is a lady who’s cubicle is in the front to my now left.
One lady I think is wearing a wig so either she is going through cancer treatment or some other major medical issue. There is a younger black male, and a older white male who may think he is still a surfer. One lady in a beige skirt and jacket ensemble.
I wait for what feels like eternity but truly is probably only like ten minutes. Time seems to pass differently for Social Anxiety sufferers.
Finally my name is called and I am ushered into the woman’s cubicle with the Beige fetish. I sit down and we start a lovely conversation about what my future may hold and where I want it to be. After some quick Q&A it is now time for my turn at another computer in the back of the room.
She comes with me to help the idiot work through the financial aid forms. As each keystroke it is getting closer to the scariest two hours I have ever lived through.
