Thank you for your question — it’s a really important one and I’m glad you asked it.
You’re absolutely right to wonder whether focusing on trauma might attract more of the same. After all, one of the core principles of the Law of Attraction (LOA) is that energy flows where attention goes, right?
So, it makes sense that we’d want to steer clear of dwelling on negative things like trauma. But here’s the raw, no-bull truth: trauma isn’t just something you can ignore, sweep under the rug, or wish away.
Ignoring trauma doesn’t make it go away.
In fact, it does the opposite — it buries itself deeper in your subconscious, continuing to influence your energy, emotions, and behaviors in ways you aren’t even fully aware of. It’s like having a heavy anchor tied to your legs while trying to swim toward your goals. You might be moving, but you’re going to exhaust yourself before you get anywhere near what you want. And whether you like it or not, that trauma is still weighing you down, quietly shaping what you’re attracting in your life.
Let me break it down a little further.
One of the things that most people misunderstand about the LOA is the role that unprocessed trauma plays in shaping what you attract. Trauma is energy — it carries its own vibration. When it goes unprocessed, it gets stuck in your body and energy field, often showing up in the form of limiting beliefs, chronic anxiety, and negative self-talk. Even when you’re not consciously thinking about the traumatic event, the residual energy of it is still present. It’s like running an outdated program in the background of your mind, constantly sabotaging your efforts to manifest what you really want.
This is where people go wrong. They think, “If I just focus on the good, if I visualize hard enough, if I keep my thoughts positive, the Law of Attraction will work.” And yeah, there’s some truth to that. But here’s the catch: if you haven’t dealt with your trauma, it doesn’t matter how many vision boards you create or affirmations you chant — because trauma sits deep within you, creating resistance to the very things you’re trying to manifest.
A lot of people try to fake being in a high-vibrational state. They’ll paste a smile on their face, force themselves to think happy thoughts, and hope the universe doesn’t notice the storm brewing underneath. But you can’t fool the universe — or yourself, for that matter. Trauma is unresolved emotional energy, and it doesn’t just disappear because you’re ignoring it.
Imagine you’re trying to manifest financial abundance, but deep down, you’re still carrying trauma from growing up in a household where money was always scarce, and your parents fought about bills. On the surface, you’re saying, “I’m abundant,” but underneath, your trauma is saying, “I’m scared, I’m not safe, and money causes problems.” Which energy do you think is stronger?
That’s right.
Your trauma will always win out if you haven’t dealt with it.
Trauma acts like an emotional and energetic anchor. You can do all the mindset work, say all the affirmations, and make all the gratitude lists you want, but if you haven’t cut the anchor, you’ll still feel stuck. You’ll keep manifesting the same toxic relationships, the same financial struggles, the same self-sabotaging behaviors — over and over again.
I’ve worked with people who’ve done all the “right” LOA practices — vision boards, meditations, affirmations — and still feel like they’re spinning their wheels.
Why?
Because deep down, they’re still carrying the energetic imprint of trauma. Whether it’s from a toxic childhood, a bad relationship, or even a seemingly small incident that left a deep emotional scar, that trauma is still vibrating at a frequency that attracts similar experiences.
This is why I focus on trauma in my work as an LOA coach. You can’t manifest your dream life if you’re dragging around the weight of unhealed trauma.
I get it — you’re probably thinking, “But doesn’t focusing on trauma attract more of it?”
And yes, if you were to sit around all day ruminating on your trauma, playing the victim, and reinforcing that narrative, you would definitely attract more of those same painful experiences. But that’s not what we’re talking about here.
When I talk about focusing on trauma, I’m talking about bringing it to the surface so it can be acknowledged, processed, and released (physically and emotionally). This isn’t about wallowing in it — it’s about freeing yourself from it. When you confront your trauma and do the inner work to heal, you clear that stagnant, negative energy from your system. You cut the energetic cords that have been tying you to the past and keeping you stuck in the same cycles.
Once you do that, your vibration naturally rises. You’re no longer vibrating from a place of fear, pain, and lack — you’re vibrating from a place of strength, empowerment, and abundance. And that’s when you start manifesting the things you actually want in life.
Let’s be real — most people are already manifesting from a place of trauma.
They just don’t realize it.
If you’re constantly attracting drama, chaos, or toxic relationships into your life, that’s a sign that unhealed trauma is running the show. Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world. If there’s unresolved trauma inside, it’s going to show up in the people you meet, the situations you find yourself in, and the circumstances of your life.
You might think, “I’m just unlucky,” or “The universe is testing me.” But the truth is, you’re attracting exactly what matches your current vibration. If your vibration is rooted in trauma, that’s what you’ll keep getting — until you deal with it.
Here’s the good news: healing trauma can completely transform your ability to manifest. When you release the emotional and energetic blocks that have been holding you back, you create space for new, positive experiences to flow into your life. You stop attracting situations that mirror your old wounds and start attracting things that align with your true desires.
Think about it like this: when your heart is open, when your energy is clear, when you’re no longer carrying the weight of your past — you become a magnet for all the good things the universe has to offer. You attract healthy relationships, financial abundance, career opportunities, and most importantly, peace of mind.
But it all starts with facing the trauma. You can’t heal what you don’t acknowledge.
So to answer your question: No, focusing on your trauma doesn’t attract more trauma. Avoiding your trauma does. By bringing it into the light, you give yourself the power to heal, to release, and to move forward in a way that finally allows you to manifest the life you truly want.
I hope that makes sense, and I’m so grateful you asked the question — it’s an important one that a lot of people get confused about. If you’re ready to dive deeper and start cutting those anchors, let’s talk.
