It is known that 50% of marriages end in divorce. Many are bitter and bad feelings linger for a lifetime. But there are marriages that weren’t meant to be and couples are able to part ways and move on in a positive way.
• Are you and your ex-spouse friends? Do you still hang out together? If you have kids, do you get together for Holidays?
• Have you remarried? How does the new spouse feel about your friendship/relationship with your ex?
• How did you reconcile ’til death do us part’ when you got divorced?
• If you have children, how did you talk to them about the divorce, and how do you talk to them about marriage?
• For our readers and writers in other countries, how do you view this issue?

The Good Men Project is different from most media companies. We are a “participatory media company”—which means we don’t just have content you read and share and comment on but it means we have multiple ways you can actively be a part of the conversation. As you become a deeper part of the conversation (Which really is “The Conversation No One Else is Having), you will learn all of the ways we support our Writer’s Community—community FB groups, weekly conference calls, classes in writing, editing platform building and How to Create Social Change.

I don’t think “happily divorced” is . . . I can’t find the right word. I’m not divorced by my parents are, and I know a lot of people who have gone through it. I can’t think of any who would say “happily divorced”. The phrase seems to diminish the agony and emotional strain that a broken marriage entails. There may be a sense of relief for some when it’s finally official, but for most, I think, reflecting upon the subject would likely be a source of pain.
