My dear son,
I understand the times in your life when everything feels pointless. You will ask yourself why you’re striving, why you’re even trying, why you’re chasing meaning as if it sits somewhere out in the future that you have not yet reached. In those moments, know that the feeling of pointlessness is not a failure but rather an invitation.
What feels like emptiness is often the doorway to freedom. It is the first honest moment when you see that you don’t have to live according to the expectations of others, or the map that society hands you. That sense of nothingness isn’t a void you must fill with accomplishments or approval — it is a space where you can finally see what is truly yours, untouched by the world’s demands.
When life feels meaningless, pause. And come home to this present moment. The pressure to prove your life matters is a heavy burden because it assumes that life’s worth is something to be earned.
But the truth is far simpler: life is already happening.
You are already here.
The present moment is life.
And you never leave it.
Pointlessness ends not by grasping for meaning afar, but by seeing that this very moment — this breath, this pulse, this simple act of being — is meaning in itself.
When you stop performing or polishing your self, and return to your real nature, the world becomes quieter, clearer, more honest.
So when you feel lost, don’t panic. Let that feeling wash over you like a wave.
Don’t resist it.
Don’t fight for control.
Swim with it.
Learn from it.
The water of life is not something to master by force. You float, you turn, you are carried — because everything is connected, and everything flows together in a kind of harmony your mind can’t engineer but can only participate in.
You don’t have to be something to have value. Your worth isn’t a function of goals achieved or accolades received. It is the simple truth that you exist. You are here. When the world tells you to hurry, to compete, to strive — recognize that much of this noise is external. Your inner landscape is a place of stillness, of immediacy, of belonging.
When everything feels pointless — see it not as a crisis, but as a chance to step out of the heavy stream of “more” and to rest in what already is. There is no separate acting “you” apart from life itself.
You are life’s own expression. When you understand that, striving dissolves, and you see that nothing is missing, nothing is wrong, and nothing needs fixing.
My wish for you is this, son.
When you encounter that sense of pointlessness, instead of retreating into fear, cultivate curiosity. Watch how the present moment unfolds. Feel how your breath brings you back to yourself. You cannot get out of now, and you never will. And that is the most beautiful thing of all.
