00:01
for my final wish another final wish the
00:08
end is a kind of current you could light
00:12
a whole city on what is gone a last
00:16
breath stirs the pages of finished books
00:19
on the mantle gathering dust our skin
00:23
lifts off than settles for my final
00:27
trick a final trick the heart working in
00:31
mundane ways each time you touch anyone
00:35
there’s a chance your atoms will move in
00:38
unison parting and your hand will pass
00:41
through their body and become lodged
00:44
there in the jaw or behind the breast of
00:50
course this doesn’t happen but the
00:53
thought of it almost makes my finger
00:55
running across a naked spine and
00:57
candlelight feel dangerous and permanent
01:00
in this danger like you might remember
01:03
this and I might love you more in that
01:06
moment than the moment we let go parting
01:09
slipping by one another into the cold
01:12
night but it is the night that parts
01:15
wide and shivering thank you
01:24
[Applause]
