You are reading this with your inner interest in understanding your life,. That’s all any of us are really doing. We all sense our way through experiences, figuring what’s best for us. Period.
Confusion may arise when we connect with people or circumstances so complicated that “what’s best?” might not be clear. Our spouses, families, coworkers may assume beliefs and behaviors which we do not really share. In these moments it is important practice to sidestep the choice of isolation and practice choosing healthier, inclusive direction.
Choosing wisely, accepting, may feel uncomfortable because life is so amazingly complex that our best understanding is typically only good for this moment, and then lost and forgotten in the breaking wave of unfolding now.
We may pay more attention to our thoughts than the toothbrush at work in our mouth.
The discipline of mindful being is here for all life. A mosquito buzzing your face is moving with the same wisdom you are as you wave the pesky bug away. Different agendas, seemingly oppositional, yet undeniably moving in the same life. The mosquito will not abandon it’s nature and motivation, which is to stay alive and thrive.
The same goes for humans.
Stay alive and thrive. And as you do, stay disciplined in attending to your body. Wave the bugs away from your body. Pay attention to the toothbrush’s movement. And regularly respect your body as a temporary gift to you.
