Welcome to the challenge of talking about guns and home safety. We won’t actually talk about it. It’s that simple.
In America, guns tie into race, class, religion, political identity and yes, you guessed it, the Man Box. The strident binary political debates associated with guns are driving a big chunk of single issue voters in the US; people who believe as long as a politician loves guns, he or she can pretty much do whatever they like on other issues.
Which means the big money will continue to pour into the pro-gun lobby, insuring that the American public will remain divided (and conquered) politically here in the US.

I’m a radical centrist. For too long liberals and conservatives have been at odds with each other, when all they need is a little imagination finding common ground. I think pro-choice people (like me) should reach out to the second-amendment defenders. Bring abortion rights and gun rights together under one campaign.
