A new study reveals that Florida is the most sober curious state in the United States, with the highest number of monthly Google searches related to a non-alcoholic lifestyle per 100,000 people.
Healthcare publisher, Recovered, used Google Keyword Planner to analyze the search volume data for each U.S. state in the past 12 months for 121 unique and relevant keywords related to alcohol sobriety. To avoid population bias, a monthly search volume per 100,000 people was then calculated to rank the states with the most interest in a sober lifestyle.

“The term ‘sober curious’ has risen on social media, which encourages individuals to become more mindful of their alcohol consumption and consider an alcohol-free lifestyle.
“Whether you recognize a dependency on alcohol or are just considering consuming less alcohol, it is encouraging to discover that people are reaching out for support through Alcoholics Anonymous.
“The study also shows that alcohol addiction does not discriminate since the states that are searching the most for help are all over the country. If you are struggling with addiction, seeking help is the first step, whether it be to family, friends or professionals.”
