To my fellow Americans in Super Tuesday States: Vote! (not for Trump)
—
To my fellow Americans in Super Tuesday states, I have one word:
Vote.
Actually, make that nine words:
Vote, as long as you’re not voting for Trump.
I never thought I’d see a presidential frontrunner openly advocate war crimes.
That happened.
I never thought I’d see black students escorted from their own campus by Secret Service agents of a presidential contender, but:
That happened.
I never thought I’d hear a potential president fawn over Benito Mussolini.
That happened.
I never thought a presidential frontrunner would side with the Chinese government over student protestors in Tiananmen Square. The Chinese government who brutally murdered unarmed teens and young adults being some sick symbol of “strength” (This becoming a trend?)
That happened.
I never thought I’d see someone with absolutely no comprehension of how our government actually works – the fact that judges don’t sign bills, and that the Bill of Rights defends freedom of speech and freedom of the press – make it to major party frontrunner status.
That happened.
I definitely never thought I’d see someone refusing to outrightly disavow the KKK have a future in politics.
That appears to be happening.
So here’s my message: If you’re Republican, figure out who is in second place in your state, and vote for that person.
If you’re a Democrat who is not particularly tied to Bernie or Hillary, vote for whichever Republican is in second place in your state.
If you’re an Independent, go to the Republican side tonight, and vote for whoever is in 2nd place against Trump.
Because the one and only way that Donald Trump can unite this country is bringing both parties out to vote against him.
It’s your patriotic duty. Vote!
I see what you did there. Since we are reveling in the impact of movies upon our psyche here at GMP, I’ll take a moment to look up to the stars and quote general Akbar: “it’s a trap!” We knock Trump out, auntie Hillary wins the day…but do we win? I think not. It’s a game of hit the guy to your left (or right). The left tosses out their ace in the hole, the right throws their Trump card. One is the bludgeoning feminist, the other the masculine demagogue. It’s a puppet show, a facade, an unwinnable game of… Read more »
