A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.
Galatians 5:9

That is the point of deception, whether it be on a personal level in a relationship or on larger more organized scale. A person or a movement presents itself to be something it is not in order to provoke a specific response from you. False pretense is required because it is known you would not agree with what is desired of you if everything was presented to you in an honest manner. It generally involves you believing someone or something has your best interests at heart when in reality you are just a currency to be spent on fulfilling an appetite that will never have affection for your value.
When a little lump transforms into an appearance that is very impressive to you and that you perceive to be of much greater substance than you, it is easy to be discouraged. Who are you to stand up to something so much bigger than you? So many aspects of your own heart are being used against you at once, what good will it do stand when you feel so weak? You will stand and then you will fall and then you will feel worse than before – or so you tell yourself.
But, worst case, say you are right. You quietly stand up for yourself on the inside, you for one moment grasp a truth that brings you a very vivid life and joy, but then you lose it and you fall. Was that such a waste? If you had not stood, then you would have never tasted the sweetness that you did. You will never have that experience of standing that perhaps builds a muscle memory that becomes a momentum to stand for one more moment and one more moment after that until one day you stand longer than you ever imagined.
Sometimes the truth sets you free, but it is a very painful freedom. However, the type of pain it brings is a pain that gives you a vision you never knew was available to you. It is a pain that takes you to better places, even if the betterness is only known internally within you.
“When you’ve seen beyond yourself, then you may find, peace of mind is waiting there.” – George Harrison
It is good to recognize the truth and to embrace the freedom it brings you. Lies and deception can feel so comfortable and life giving in their own manipulative way and you just want to stay there and to not mind being afraid of what life is like without that familiar comfort. But no matter how thankless it appears, knowing the truth is a good yeast that will honestly grow your being into a far more magnificent creation that you thought you were capable of being. You’ve got this!
