If you are expecting to see something out of “Cops”, think again.
When a cop pulls over, especially near a kid or a group of kids, you probably aren’t expecting a story that will remind you that there are good guys out there.
But a dash cam video surfaced Saturday from Rosenberg, Texas, that shows a different picture. Sgt. Ariel Soltura was doing a routine traffic stop with his dashboard camera rolling, as is customary. All of a sudden, he saw a group of kids playing football, with one kid not part of the group. So Soltura stopped his car. (abcnews.go.com)

10-year-old Jermaine Ford was not expecting this. I suspect that most people who clicked on this video weren’t either.
Maybe if more officers found a few minutes to play ball with a kid, there’d be a little more trust – and hope – on these streets.

Ryan, I’m always happy to share “good cop” stories.
I grew up around Rosenburg, TX, and I have to say…I’m not surprised. That’s a good area full of good-hearted people. I’m really proud of and impressed by this fellow. 😉
As an officer myself, it always feels good to see these videos rather than the other kind…thanks 🙂
I saw this a couple of days ago, glad it made it here at GMP. The officers I know are more like the one shown here.
