The NFL sideshow has finally come to a halt. At least before Letroy Guion was found with 357 grams of marijuana and $190k in cash. Oh NFL, next September can’t come fast enough. On to the Friday Sports Dump.

We start in beautiful Aspen, Colorado. Information was just released about an incident back on December 28. Lance Armstrong and his girlfriend Anna Hansen decided to play bumper cars, only problem was no one else was playing. The vehicle allegedly hit two cars. The reason we say vehicle and not someone driving is because Hansen told officers she was driving, but later admitted Armstrong was.
Per the AP:
Hansen initially told police she had been driving home from an Aspen Art Museum party when she lost control of Armstrong’s GMC Yukon on icy roads, hitting the cars. She said she drove because “Lance had a little bit to drink,” according to the reports.
A man who had been renting one of the damaged cars told a police detective that Hansen came running up to his house in high heels, apologizing and promising to pay for the repairs.
“She said, ‘I’m Anna, we’re the Armstrongs, my husband’s Lance, he was just driving maybe too fast around the corner or something,'” the man, Thomas Van Allen, told police, according to the reports.
It seems lying hasn’t yet left the tainted bloodstream of one Lance Armstrong.
Back in 2001 when Armstrong was deceiving his way to the top of cycling, Serena Williams was a 19-year-old tennis phenom, winning her second singles championship at Indian Wells, California.
What should have been a momentous day for all the right reasons, was for all the wrong ones. She and her family were racially abused by some members of the cowd after sister Venus withdrew from their semifinal with an injury. Some believed father Richard was pulling strings between the two sisters.
Richard would say after the final the abuse they received, “shamed America.”
14 years later and Serena is returning to Indian Wells.
“I’m fortunate to be at a point in my career where I have nothing to prove,” Williams explained. “I’m still as driven as ever, but I play for the love of the game.
“It is with that love in mind, and a new understanding of the true meaning of forgiveness, that I will proudly return to Indian Wells in 2015.”
The game’s greatest tennis player is giving us all reason to cheer.

The Friday Sports Dump really tried to move on from football. It seems no matter what time of the year it is, the NFL just can’t help itself. The latest controversy involves the Cleveland Browns. To which I ask those in Cleveland, what have you done to deserve this?
Can we open up a JFK assassination conspiracy type investigate to see what exactly the city and people of Cleveland did to receive this much bad luck? The Browns star quarterback and the furture of the franchise just entered a treatment facility. Cleveland’s prized wide receiver was just suspened for the entire 2015 season. Now, it looks like the team’s general manager, Ray Farmer is the latest to end up in the principal’s office.
According to Northeast Ohio Media Group’s Mary Kay Cabot, Farmer texted from the press box to the sidelines about playcalls during a game. This is a violation of the NFL’s electronic device policy. According to Cabot, Farmer may face sanctions from the NFL including a multigame suspension, and a fine and a loss of draft pick for the Browns.
No word yet on whether the loss of Cleveland’s sports soul is imminent as well.

Snoop Dogg is not a Cleveland fan. He is one of the biggest supporters of the University off Southern California. During the Carroll heyday, Snoop was frequently seen on the sidelines, the endzones, pretty much everywhere. When NFL Network did A Football Life on the USC-Texas National Championship game from the 2005 season, Snoop was one of the people prominently featured.
Which is why it came as a shock to everyone when his son, a highly recruited player from Bishop Gorman High in Nevada chose UCLA.
Did Snoop do like some parents in the south and show his displeasure on national television?
Let the rapper speak for himself.

While most of us may never know what it’s like to have our son’s or daughter’s nationally recruited. We can all revel in what Snoop made abundantly clear; there’s nothing stronger than a parent’s love.
