It wasn’t the religion that mattered.
It is the people that last.
It wasn’t the political belief that brought us together
It is our moral/human values that made us stay.
It wasn’t the color of our blood that separated us
It is our ideologies that did.
It wasn’t the amount of money that could buy life
It is equal care and treatment that kept us alive.
***
It was without any sign that we were born,
It is the societal norms that identified us differently
There wasn’t a difference in the pain and color of the tears,
Only the people in it differed.
The idea was not to have the same profile stories and messages,
It was to amplify them.
The idea was not to blame the people in power
It was to make them useful.
***
The story remained the same,
Only characters changed.
It wasn’t the situation that was different
It is our approach that varied.
It wasn’t the resources that were limited,
It was the access to them that changed the aftermath.
***
It’s not the time that will be remembered,
It is the acts that will be recalled.
Stories will end
Facts will stay.
People will leave
Losses will bear the witness.
It is not the end-all,
It is just the start.
