What happens when we face our fears: everything shifts.
I do this on an ongoing basis. I did it today! I don’t like a “cluttered up” me.
I deal with my emotions as well and as thoroughly as I can. EVERY TIME!
It’s an onion peel with layers. Unwinding our true nature. We only have so much control over it and the rest is up to whatever you believe it to be.
What I do know is that once my closet is cleared out, I don’t feel good when it starts to clutter up again. So, I do the inside cleaning job.
I’ve grown to love facing my fears and I’m so happy I did. It started one day when I was asked to go rappelling off a cliff. I stopped and almost said, Oh no! I can’t, I’m afraid of heights.
A bigger part of me said OMG!! that would be so amazing! I didn’t sit in fear, I sat in the process of watching and learning how to drop myself off this 350 ft cliff. I didn’t think, I just did it. It was amazing! Something I’ll never forget.
My fear of heights was greatly reduced and I got a high, an amazing high that began my journey into loving adventure. That lead to firewalking!!!
I can’t explain the satisfaction I from adventure and I get that same high off doing my inner work.
Yes, it sucks sometimes and I’ve been doing it for 20 years now… or more, I’ve lost track.
It’s like running a marathon. It hurts and is uncomfortable at times and you look forward to the end when you can feel great about your progress!
For me becoming fearless isn’t the lack of fear, it is just doing it anyway. Courage is the ability to take action in spite of fear.
I don’t know if true Fear-less-ness exists. I would suspect that everyone has a certain amount of fear regardless of how much they have overcome.
We can learn to live in a way that we don’t allow that fear to hold us back. A place where courage is our way of life.
