Today there was a chill in the air, the same October one, when the rustle of leaves is heard with a slight chill. I was sitting near the window, watching the golden leaves fall. Every leaf fluttered slowly in the air, as if immersed in some soft light. There was a strange nostalgia in the damp smell of the soil, like a forgotten tune. There was no burden in my heart today…I felt relaxed. It seemed that these cold winds had blown away all my sorrows and I had become very light.
After a long time, I had a conversation with myself, showered myself with love, and got lost in my own thoughts. There was no sadness in being alone today, no longing for someone’s company. Instead, there was a strange sense of peace in this moment. The evening held a different kind of intoxication—a joy, a high from rediscovering myself.
Meanwhile, I pulled out my phone to capture the moment. But as soon as I looked at the pictures, my eyes settled on an old photo. The picture that once used to hurt, today a light smile came on my face – a smile full of understanding and comfort.
Life is strange like that. Sometimes, we willingly burn ourselves in the scorching heat of sorrow, refusing to step into the shade. Yet, there’s a peculiar satisfaction in enduring that heat, as long as we know our limits. And when the sun gets too harsh, it’s okay to seek the shade, even if it dims the light a little.
The world outside is like a market, where everyone is trapped in the waves of their own ups and downs. But to find true solace, we have to pull ourselves out of those waves and find peace within ourselves.
How important it is to love ourselves, to understand ourselves. Live each moment to the fullest and find happiness in it.
Those falling golden leaves, waving in the air outside, reminded me that the real solace is not outside, but inside me. Sometimes it is very important to meet yourself, understand your worth and give yourself a place in your heart. Creating a place in the heart for others is easy, but to hold that place for yourself is the real challenge. That’s why, sometimes, it’s vital to pause and meet yourself- to remember what we’ve forgotten, and to rediscover the person who was always inside us.
