Two guys travel America in pursuit of the meaning of happiness. What is your take?
What is happiness? What does happiness mean to you?
It seems to be the major pursuit of life but how often do we find it? And if/when we do, how long can we hold onto it?
I was tired of my state of being. I have been unhappy for a long time. I have my good days too but it seems like the negative ominous rain cloud just follows me around no matter what I do. I was never sure if this was just the usual ups and downs of everyday life or if I really was unhappy. After a life altering event, all I knew and thought I loved changed drastically. I wondered to myself if I was even happy to begin with. I wanted to rebuild my life in the best possible way, this time looking at it objectively. I wanted to find out what happiness really is. Is it really something we can achieve? Or is it really just an emotion we can control? Is it just a chemical in the brain? Is it something that we can take charge of? I feel there is a method that anyone can follow to acquire it, but with all these philosophical questions it only brings up even more questions. My next query would be to discover once you obtain happiness how do you hold onto it? How do you keep the bad from taking over and ruining it?
These thoughts still perplex me. I’ve always sort of pondered these things over the years. What was I really doing with myself? Was I really ever happy?
I started confiding in my friend Nathan and realized he had the same struggle. We both were so unsure of what we thought happiness really was. It all seemed so surreal. Everyone else seemed to have it down. Or did they? Was it just a facade? So we decided to set out to find out.
Follow us as we travel the country in search the meaning of happiness.
We’re sure happiness is different for everyone. So we seek to discover it’s meaning for everybody. All walks of life. All demographics. All parts of the country. All ages. All cultures. We want people to question their own happiness. Is it really happiness they have had all along? Or just something they were told was happiness. More than just asking people to answer questions, we’ll be looking into their daily lives, their goals, their aspirations. Spending time with them and learning what makes them who and what they are.
This is an endeavor greater than ourselves. We are on our way to make a life changing movie to help others find their own happiness as well as search for what it means to us. The deeper meaning behind these emotions we all search for. This film will not only help us in our pursuit, but will guide and comfort others. It will show that there’s still hope for those who seem to have lost it. It will prove that happiness is not limited to the privileged. Please support this journey and become involved. The film will be an ongoing project. A YouTube series, a blog, and ultimately a documentary. We are looking to spread the word. We want people to be a part of this. The outcome of everything is directly affected by those who wish to support us. Your advice, your questions, your answers, your information, your donations, your feedback and your direct connections with us will help make this the best film possible. Please help us create something great and maybe we can all grow to understand each other a little more, which will help make us all happy. 🙂
