This is the full reveal of the mountain from the stony redoubt of Betis.
–––
The great horseshoe of the Sierra reaches out protectively around this ecology. It is the embrace of the mountain.
Here, all the ecologies are manifest; from the meadows of Saladaviciosa on the left which fluidly transmute their form to the high tropical forests of oak on the right.
Flowing sinuously down the mountain, one sees the lines of alders and willows picking out the rapidly drying courses of the silent streams.
Along the ridgeline, the shattered pinnacles of living rock stand proud and resistant. Their twisted and fractured selves a testament to storm and bone cracking heat.
But they are all one, a glorious rainbow coalition of living forms coalescing into the singularity of beauty that we see before us.
