A.K.A. (finger pointing propaganda) Christmas Carol
–––
Scrooge is probably one of the most brilliant forms of guilt/sadness/finger pointing propaganda ever invented! If you disagree with Christmas, you are nothing but a big fat boobie head scrooge bully!
Yet, when you stop being a scrooge, and accept the gift of Christmas, only then can you find happiness … And isn’t happiness in giving. And isn’t shopping part of happiness, and isn’t happiness found in conformity….
I used to be trained into believing the media couldn’t find another idea, that they were so out of creativity they had to keep using this old story.
“It isn’t the same with Christmas music,” you say?
Nope, Christmas songs tie into the guilt/sadness/finger pointing propaganda of supply and demand too. That’s why you hear that sappy shit everywhere. Every speaker around you…..Using guilt and sadness and finger pointing.
The only one cure for that is to buy lots of stuff and give it away. Can you think of other ways this same idea of propaganda has been used throughout the year to cause heartfelt moments where you just have to help the cause? I can—Ferguson, AIDs, 9/11, Israel… Oh so many.
Have you been Scrooged?
FYI. Scrooge propaganda also works in reverse.
If you mock an ideal long enough (with lots of people also mocking) even if what they mock is true, people are afraid to even come near that idea due to peer pressure. They’d rather steer clear than be a part of those being laughed at. Again, we can call this Scrooge propaganda, or finger pointing propaganda.
I used to despise this story, that is until I discovered the secret motive behind the propaganda. It is brilliant and should be studied by everyone. Propaganda cannot work unless you crazy glue an emotional element to it. The more who believe the propaganda, the better and stronger it becomes.
The more one is born into an ideal, the more propaganda becomes a truth that’s always been.

Well….this was unexpected. A tad harsh, but I think the general point of being wise to manipulation tactics, even in regard to commonly-accepted “worthy causes” is a good one, and it’s always good to remain skeptical with everything. I recommend Adam Curtis’ Century of the Self documentary series if you’ve not watched it already, and Edward Bernays’ original works can be found on the Internet Archive iirc. Was very interesting to learn that Bernays is the father of modern PR, who was previously a Great War propagandist (the term PR is itself a propagandist term), and he got the idea… Read more »
Whos bagging on the author when the guilty parties are clearly…… Oh, never-mind. You bought in and can’t afford to escape the mental slavery.
Yawn. Get over it. It’s a cools story meant to get you to think. The author is an artist, dont bag his creativity.Theres not a lot of good out there in the world. Why bash this??
